Katelyn Fish 9/15/08 Reading Response 1. What did you find most intriguing about this reading? I really liked the section about ladders against the wrong wall. It made me think about all my goals in my life and if they are “against the wrong wall”. I think that the motives for all my goals are on the right wall, but now I will recognize when my ladder is placed on the wrong wall, hopefully before it is too late. 2. Why is self-awareness important in goal setting? If we do not have self-awareness then we could miss opportunities in life or get down by setting goals to high. We need to be honest with ourselves and know what we can accomplish. We need to be sure that we are ready to accept the outcomes whatever they may be, positive or negative. If we are not aware of how we are going to react, then the goals we set can led

Why should goal setting be “principle-based?” If we do not do the right thing, or try to do the right thing then we can never get real life results. Setting goals on different levels, such as daily goals or long term goals, causes us to think about our principles and how to do the right thing throughout the goals we set. It helps to make sure we are keeping ourselves in check. 4. What are three goals you would like to accomplish this year? 1. Finding a balance between studying and socializing. 2. Maintaining relationships with those I care about on the same level I have all my life. 3. Learn more about myself and how I can become a better person....
