Katelyn Fish 8102161990 Psychology 1101 Mini Paper 1. I used operant conditioning. 2. I conditioned myself. 3. I was trying to get myself to workout four days a week, Monday through Thursday. 4. My positive reinforcement was that I got to eat candy if I went and worked out that day. My negative punishment was that if I didn’t work out I wasn’t allowed to watch my favorite television show the next time it was on. 5. My schedule of reinforcement was continuous reinforcement. Yes, I do think that operant conditioning was an effective way to change behavior. Although, I do believe that it would work better when trying to condition others and not yourself. Having the self-discipline to punish oneself is hard and easy to not follow through with the punishment. I would probably use this again in real life since it worked for me. I would just have to have a harsh enough punishment....
