Katelyn Fish Assignment #14 Justine Gillette stood in line at Zeta Tau Alpha on a Wednesday afternoon in the warm spring sunlight, talking with her friends about weekend plans while listening to the band play and smelling the freshly cooked southern food she was about to eat. Zeta Tau Alpha hosted its annual Pink Picnic in March for Breast Cancer awareness and education. Approximately 700 people came out to eat good southern cooking, including, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, green beans, rolls and cheesecake. With the help of Sysco, Atlanta Bread Company, a private catering company and $5 ticket sales, Zeta Tau Alpha was able to raise around $3,500 at this event. A line was curved all the way from the inside of their home and down the sidewalk of Milledge Avenue. “My friends and I had a great time. The line went by really quickly since we were able to listen to a great band while waiting,” said Justine Gillette, an Alpha Gamma Delta at the University of Georgia.
