Katelyn Fish Grady Journal Assignment Spring not only brings April showers and May flowers, but also philanthropy events for sororities and fraternities on campus. As the weather begins to warm up students cannot wait to get outside. The greek community has maximized this opportunity by getting students out of hibernation and to their philanthropy events at their houses on Milledge Ave. Almost every week the lawns of the historic houses on Milledge Ave are filled with a variety of students and community members showing their support for the different causes they are raising money for. Prices range from five to eight dollars in order to get into these events filled with music, food, and fun. Zeta Tau Alpha, hosted their annual Pink Picnic on Wednesday March 24 from 6-8 p.m. for Breast Cancer awareness and education. Approximately 700 people came out to eat good southern cooking; there was fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, green beans, rolls, and cheesecake.
