State Machine Model State Machine Models Along with the clock, a state Along with the clock, a state machine has three important sets of signal values. A set of inputs ( x 1 ,…, x m ) that provide functionality to the state machine. A set of outputs ( z 1 ,…, z n ) that provide some indication of the tt if t i state information. A set of state variables ( y 1 ,…, y r ) that collectively determine the state of the machine. The state variables are sequential functions of the inputs and of themselves of the inputs and of themselves.
