c) Find the mean and standard deviation of the probability distribution.

Find the value of k that makes this function a valid probability distribution function for a continuous
variable:
f(x) = k(x+1)/27 for 2 < x < 5.

Suppose X is a binomial random variable with n = 100 and p = 0.60.
a)
Verify that is it appropriate to use the normal approximation to the binomial.
b)
Find the probability that X is less than 42.
c)
Find the probability that X is greater than or equal to 35.
d)
Find the probability that X is equal to 58.
