Regression in JMP 1) Scatter-plot a. Analyze menu b. Choose Fit Y by X c. Enter response variable (y) in “Y, Response” slot d. Enter predictor variables (x’s) in “X, Factor” slot 2) Generate initial regression output: a. Analyze menu b. Choose Fit Model c. Enter response variable (y) in “y” slot at top of menu d. Enter predictor variables (x’s) in “construct model effects” area towards the bottom of the menu e. Select “minimal report” from “Emphasis” pull-down menu f. Click “Run Model” 3) Predicted vs. Residual plot: a. Select red triangle next to top of regression output b. Select “row diagnostics” c. Select “plot residual by predicted”

4) Normal plot a. Select red triangle next to top of regression output b. Select “save columns” c. Select “studentized residuals d. From Main JMP Menu, select “analyze” menu e. Select “Distribution” f. Select the studentized residual column for the “Y, columns” variable g. Select the red triangle next to the “studentized residual” header
