The convention for the narration in a feature dictates that the voice belongs to one of the main characters, and it is also known as the “voice of God”. Besides the traditional way, many filmmakers employed the other methods to do the narration. For example, Sunset (1950) by Billy Wilder, was used a dead man’s voice as the narrator. In Hollywood, narration is explicit and does not invite interpretation. It is used a part of a master technique of manufacturing the narrative. Furthermore, some filmmakers used narration as an invitation to actively participate in the cinematic experience. Last but not least, some directors employed the voice of its protagonist as a narrator, such as Croupier (1999). The voice of the character is over the story more as a commentator than the storyteller. 2. Leitmotif is a term used for specific musical labeling of a character or premise of a film. For example, The Lord of the Ring II:
