When AC induction motors are started, there is a large amount of current flowing into the motor (and system) as soon as power is applied to the motor. Starting of Motors Starting of Motors The range of this starting current is usually around 6 to 10 times the running current (of FLA).

Starting Motors Changing from one state to another. In motor control system, particularly in reduced voltage starting, transition refers to the change from starting condition to running condition. Two types of transition: 1. Open transition 2. Close transition Transitions
