This class combines the topics of Bis102 and Bis103 for those students who don’t need as much biochemistry as you would get in two quarters. Bis102 and Bis103 are still to be taught, just as before. If this class is not right for you, then you will still be able to get one of them. Who can take this class? Major Emphasis Bis105 fulfills your major requirement? At present, if you switch from a major that allows Bis105 to one that does not, you will have to take both Bis102 and Bis103, even if you have passed Bis105. Anyone else whose situation has not been described yet? Please see me after class. I will listen to your story and tell you what I think. Then I will very likely tell you to see your academic advisor. Units: This is a three unit class. If you previously worked out a plan to graduate using Bis102 and 103, then you probably had in your plan six upper division units for those classes. Now you will get three. Make sure this is not a problem for you. How? See your advisor. If you took Bis102 already, you can receive one unit for this class. Same with Bis103, ABI 102 and ABI 103. If you took both 102 and 103, you cannot receive any units for this class. Many medical and health professional schools allow you to take this course and not Bis102 and 103. I don’t know all those who do not, so if you have a question about a particular school you should query them directly. If this seems all very convoluted and confusing, just make sure you see your
