Nussel Being a role model and creating credibility There is evidence that successful managers develop role models amongst staff members in order for them to have reliability as managers. In Brown and Moshavi’s (2002) research, when statistical control was in use, only idealized authority was linked with all three connections of effectiveness. These conclusions are regular with the trend for idealized authority to demonstrate the strongest relations with success. In the perspective of acting as a role model and establishing credibility, this result in relation to idealized control is noteworthy because it represents managers who are respected, admired, and trusted, whose followers “want to imitate their leaders and identify with’ (Bass et al ., 2003, p. 208).
