In the current economy, knowledge is an asset that should be appreciated, developed and managed, since it is an element of the intellectual capital of an organization. Knowledge is increasingly being regarded as a corporate asset in an age when data and information help sustain competitive advantage. Knowledge is, however, an intangible asset and so managing it creates a number of unique challenges in the area of human resource, especially when workers are more concerned with their employability (Bogdanoqicz & Bailey, 2002). The question begs, what constitutes knowledge and where does it reside? According to Majia, Balkin, and Cardy (2010) knowledge workers are those employees that transform their knowledge into a product or service. For example, teachers or IT programmers who take a large amount of information and transform it into a product or service would be considered knowledge workers. By some, knowledge is a personal possession, something an individual has as a result of education or experience. However, most would agree
