NPU CS/CE470 Midterm Exam, Summer 2008 Problem 1 A user wants to access an URL containing five objects, each 100 kilobytes in size.  You are to  calculate the nodal delays from the local router to the server router. Ignore both queueing  delays and propagation delays.  Assume the setup time for a TCP connection is 100 ms and it  takes 1ms for the local router to transmit a request HTTP message.  The transmission delay for  the reponse message depends only on the size of object/objects contained in the HTTP reply  message.  The processing delay for a message at both routers is 100 microseconds.  Calculate  the total nodal delay from the time the first request is sent to the time the last object is received  at the local router.  Do this for two scenarios: (a) when both routers run HTTP 1.0 non-persistent  connections, and (b) when both routers run HTTP 1.1 persistent connections.
