Social Phobia Avoidant PD Fear of social performance situations. Fear of scrutiny by others. Fear will act in a way that will be humiliating or embarrassing Exposure provokes anxiety (possibly a panic attack). Have lots of friends (unlike Avoidant PD), just don’t like performing. Ego-dystonic (have insight!). Tend to avoid the troublesome situations. Significantly impairs functioning. Social discomfort. Fear of negative evaluation. Restrained in relationships due to fear of being shamed or ridiculed. Want to be liked (unlike Schizoid) More socially withdrawn than in Social Phobia → few friends. Ego-syntonic (don’t have insight!). Preoccupied with criticism or rejection in social situations. Inhibited in new situations due to feelings of inadequacy. OCPD OCD Pervasive & extreme style of a person who has a strong need of excessive control. Need for perfection; strictly follow rules No insight to disorder Obsessions and/or compulsions which results
