Stacey Huber Psych 306 October 13, 2010 Lesson Plan Class Objectives 1. For students continue practicing cover letter writing skills writing through peer editing workshops and feedback discussions 2. For students to continue developing resume skills through different activities Class Materials: 1. Candy for winners of resume game Intro to Weekly Discussion (5-10 minutes) 1. Write Agenda on Board a. Resumes b. Ice Breaker c. Draft Cover Letters-Peer Editing d. Resume Game e. Next Week: Final Copy of Resume & Angela to outline; Networking and Informational Interviewing f. Reminder: Info Interview due Nov 10 2. Have students arrange seats into circle if they have not already done so 3. Ask students to hand in both copies of draft cover letter. I will be handing out one copy to a peer 4. Ask if there are any questions about today’s lecture 5. Hand Back Resumes and Make up Assignments a. Ask if there are any questions/concerns about the feedback on the resumes 6. Take Attendance (fill out attendance tracker sheet) Activities/Discussion (35 minutes) 1. Ice Breaker: Name history i. Each student will reintroduce themselves to the class. They will tell us why they were given their names. Sometimes they turn into funny stories! I’ll start with mine.
