Stacey Huber Psych 306 October 27, 2010 Lesson Plan Class Objectives 1. For students to understand the importance of being able to distinguish themselves from their peers in a job interview 2. For students to be able to utilize their knowledge from today’s lecture and discussion in their future interviews. Class Materials: 1. Chalk Board Intro to Weekly Discussion (5-10 minutes) 1. Write Agenda on Board a. Hand in Cover Letter and Make-up Assignments b. Ice Breaker c. How to distinguish yourself from your peers d. Next Week: Interviewing; Resume mentoring assignment due; Cameron to outline e. Reminder: Next Week we will be meeting with Sam’s Section and Qinchi’s section in 296 Dennison for discussion; Info Interview due Nov 10 2. Have students arrange seats into circle if they have not already done so 3. Ask students to hand in final Cover Letter 4. Ask if there are any questions about today’s lecture 5. Hand Back Resumes and Make up Assignments a. Ask if there are any questions/concerns about the feedback on the resumes 6. Take Attendance (fill out attendance tracker sheet); make note of Sam’s Students (Diane R, Alex F, Mike W, Anna K) Activities/Discussion (35 minutes) 1. Ice Breaker: Stranded Island a.
