Integrative States of Consciousness -triune brain Perspectives -Eurocentered (white) science -Indigenous sciences (African, Native American, etc.) -Both are local science -Eurocentered science supremacist (local origins universalized) Integrative States -Some are utilized in psychotherapy (hypnosis, deep relaxation) -Many are what are commonly called religious or spiritual experiences -Visions, glossolalia, ceremonial dances -Culturally supported ways of induction -Not of “trance” but sacred space - Entering an itegrative process means accessing experiences that can be profound in a psychological, spiritual, and or religious sense -Bridging the neo-mammalian and the paleo-mammalian (& reptilian) parts of our brains means entering the portal of deep psycho-spiritual experiences -Control over beginning & end of process -control over content -awareness of environment/surroundings - affect -experience of self sense -out of body experience -content
