I am comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the collaborative writing process. I have always used the individual writing process and until now I did little research or study about the benefits of the collaborative process compared to the way I am used to producing documents. The advantages of collaborative team writing include a wider knowledge base being brought to the project. Each member of the team has a different background, personality type, learning style, and multiple intelligences to offer the team. A wide range of expertise and skills will benefit the writing process as well. Team members have different skills in writing, interviewing, proofing, researching, or in their own expertise. It is important for the team leader to be able to recognize strengths and weaknesses of team members to ensure an organized well working team.
