Communication Techniques There are many distinctions among the different types of communication techniques used in the business world. Select two techniques and provide an example of when it is appropriate to use each in corporate communication. Memos are a commonly used communication technique in business. In corporate communication memos are used for in house communications, such as a new corporate policy how sick days are accumulated. The memo would be distributed to all departments within the company to notify employees of the change, this document would not be meant for distribution outside of the company.

A business that needs to send out a communication about a recall of a product would use an email. Internal departments, such as customer service, need to be notified in anticipation of customer inquiries. Customers that purchased the recalled product need to be notified of the recall and what course of action is required by these customers that are notified through the email.
