Although I can understand Deana's family has concerns regarding her choice to attend college, I believe that they are not seeing the benefits of her decision and only looking at potential negatives. It should be good news that Deana is going to attend college, especially since she is the first in her family to do so. This fact may be one reason why her family is unsure about her decision since they do not know what to expect. It is important to work and make money to support herself, but in the end after finishing her education, Deana will be able

Unformatted text preview: to carry that degree with her throughout life and potentially make more money in her life than if she were to enter the work force without acquiring additional education. Rather than simply accepting her decision, Deana's family should support it and her. Deana may not have as much time to spend with the family but going to college does not mean that she will not be able to fulfill her obligations while attending classes, she may need to juggle her schedule but in the end it will be worth it....
