Sahar Snell BEH225 Week 5 Employee motivation is an essential element of performance enhancement. In order to maintain productive employees, every manager must have an effective management and leadership style. Although the goal of every organization is maximum productivity, it will not be accomplished without motivation. Taking the time to express appreciation is one of the most positive and influential things a manager can do for his or her employees. In order to do this the manager needs to know and understand the employees’ needs and take into consideration that human nature is very different in each individual. Because each individual is different, he or she must be motivated differently. While most people are motivated by money, which is a form of extrinsic motivation, others are motivated intrinsically by simply hearing a thank you or good job. Most people are willing to give their best as long as they feel that they are being acknowledged in some way or another. Accordingly, for many employees all that matters is that they are
