Unformatted text preview: Dar ren Nussel Effective Conflict Management The Conflict-Management Style article is a survey to allow people to discover their personal type of conflict-management style. Galatians 5:17 states, “For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want,” (New International Version). There are several evaluations to rank strengths and weaknesses. In order to be effective in a group one must be able to determine how their personality handles conflict. There are five categories of the Conflict-Management Style Survey which are: Competing/Controlling; Accommodating; Avoiding; Collaborating and Compromising, (Samarah, et al, 2003). After the assessment my strength is “Accommodating” – when an individual neglects their own concerns to satisfy the concerns of others, there is an element of self-sacrifice in this mode, (p.3).
