Invented by Dr. Hyun Bae, the iLif is a device that reduces extension of the spinal cord and thereby decreases pain and inflammation in patients with spinuous diseases such as spinal stenosis. A much less invasive procedure than spinal fusion, the iLif is designed to fit between the spinous processes L1-L2, L2-L3, L3-L4 and acts with a door stop mechanism to keep the spinal canal from further narrowing and pinching the nerve root. Dr. Bae created the iLif in an effort to minimize the trauma of spine surgery itself and the device is FDA-approved for the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis. I attached a picture of the device. I also attached the German article that's basically our template for the paper (just for your reference). Any additional points of interest would great. I think that just a paragraph would be sufficient. But the primary focus should be on how the device will treat patients.
