It is clear that oil was the main source used for energy production in both years. Additionally, while energy generation by oil, nuclear fell, there were increases in the figures for natural gas, coal and other renewable. In 1985, the production of energy from oil was higher than other sources, at 52%, while the figures for nuclear and natural gas were significantly lower, at 22% and 13% respectively.
