Discussion #4 – Chris Glover Ethics and Computers I think the Golden Rule should be followed in computer use, for example, do unto others as they would do unto you. I do not believe the computer should be used to harm others or to steal. I also think that nobody has the right to see what’s on your computer, unless you have given them permission, such as your employer. Since an employer provides the equipment and programs that you do work for them on, they should have access to what you are you using their computer for. I think you should also have respect for others when using social networking, and not use it to slander and blackmail others that you have a conflict with. With social network sites, there is so much personal information out there that there is the question about those who take that information and sell it. Ethically, should this information be sold without permission of the Facebook members, and, how secure is this information once it is out there? While I think you
