As with any instantaneous communication, one would think effective communication within an organization is natural and pragmatic. Why then, are there so many communication issues within an organization? One word: people! We are so hard on ourselves! If people were more forgiving of themselves first, then quick to forgive others, think how much more productive we would be. When communication falters or fails, getting back in action is delayed until anger, frustration, hurt, or revenge is carried out. This is sad! But, as a wise preacher once told me, “Everything rises and falls on leadership." I believe leaders are wrong to accuse others when communications run afoul in the organization. They should accept responsibility and enlist assistance in fixing the situation. Good leaders insist on good communication. Also, their actions make it easy for
