Weekly Summary Sandra Elmore Math December 18, 2010 In this week’s text I learned several new things. For an example I learned that a line with an undefined slope is a vertical line and that a line with a slope of zero is a horizontal line.

Weekly Summary This is the formula that learned to help me with the slopes and graphing. m = (y2-y1) divided by (x2-x1) For the undefined slope I found that you will get zero in the denominator, which you cannot have because you it will not let you divide by zero. Then for the slope equal to zero, you will get a zero in the numerator. The zero divided by any non-zero denominator, will give you a slope of zero.

Unformatted text preview: I learned about the different quadrants. This is a picture that I found to help me: I learned that in the y=mx+b that the slope is the m and the x is the x coordinate and the y is the y coordinate and b is the y intercept. Also, I learned that the slope is the rise over run. I also worked on the some of the algebraic equations such as slope intercept form and slope formulas given two points. Most of what I read over in our math book was things that I had recently had in my other math class. I did learn many new things this week and did better than what I thought that I would on my quiz.
