DeLauro Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, House of Representatives member, is a member of the Democratic Party, representing Connecticut’s 3 rd Congressional district - based in New Haven, CT. DeLauro was born on March 2 nd 1943 in New Haven, Connecticut into an italian-Americna family and raised in the Roman Catholic Church. She married Stan Greenberg, a political scientist who has earned his Ph.D. at Harvard. As a member of the Democratic party, she typically votes with the left-leaning liberal caucus of her party. She has even been characterized as "radical Democrat" by GovTrack.org's analysis of bill sponsorship. DeLauro remains very active in Congress by sponsoring or cosponsoring bills. She has sponsored 158 bills since Jan 7, 1997. Of these bills, 148 have not made it out the particular committee and only 1 bill has been successfully enacted. DeLauro has also co-sponsored 2523 bills during the same period of time, labeling her as an active Congresswoman, compared to her peers. Before DeLauro became a House of Reprenstatives member, she studied at the London School of Economics and Columbia University.
