Caitlin Vodopia 9/20/2010 Project Management Manual Project management involves managing a strict budget, following a precise schedule, and being responsible for completing deliverables. The military was the first to come out with project management techniques, followed by the automotive and movie industries, and then private and public engineering organizations. A project is defined as a unique set of activities meant to produce a defined outcome within an established time frame using specific allocation of resources. Steps for the project management process model: 1. Define the project – to effectively complete a project we need to know the objectives, the members who are going to work on the team, and how the work is going to be carried out. a. All roles and responsibilities should be identified, including that of the leader’s. b. Operational procedures should be efficient and team morale high.
