Homework #7 The Pentad Scenario : There is an exam scheduled in the instructor’s class on March 3. Knowing that you will have Monday, March 2 to study for it, you decide to go with some friends to the mountains for the weekend to ski, and you plan to return late Sunday evening or very early Monday morning. It doesn’t occur to any of you to check weather forecasts; you’re just excited and pleased to get to spend the time with your friends on the slopes. You arrive at your destination early Saturday morning, you’re skiing in perfect conditions by late morning, and you’re delighted with the light snow falling. The snowfall becomes increasingly heavy through the day and overnight. Sunday the snow is coming down so fast that visibility is near zero, and the lifts are closed. All roads leading into and out of the area are closed too. They remain closed Sunday . . . and Monday . . . and most of Tuesday (the day of the exam). You finally make it back to Chapel Hill late Tuesday evening. You believe you could do well on the exam, even though you haven’t had much
