DRAFT For GMU OM493 Class exercise 1.0 Introduction 1.1 Background and Scope The Student Support and Library, formerly known as Integrated Library System (ISL) Voyager System, primary site is located in the George Mason University (GMU) Data Center Charlottesville Data Center and the backup site is in the University of Virginia in Charlottesville Va. In response to the Education Realignment and Closure (EERAC) Commission ruling contained in the 2005 Education Realignment and Closure Act, GMU will consolidate operations and relocate people and functions from current locations throughout the National Capital Region (NCR) to the Fairfax campus, by 11 September 2011. The Mission Systems Transition (MST) was established by GMU to provide overarching management and guidance for GMU systems moves from EERAC sites to alternate locations by September 2011. GMU is implementing the Application Service Provider/Infrastructure Service Provider (ASP/ISP) model in conjunction with some of these system transitions. MST determined that the Student Support and Student Support and Library is affected by the EERAC decision and must plan and execute a move to the Charlottesville location. In addition, a MST Governance Panel (MGP) decision on Sep 4, 2008 was that the Student Support and Library entity would remain on its current architecture rather than migrate to a common ISP architecture at the ITC. The primary location for n is the GMU Data Center Charlottesville Data Center in Charlottesville Va. For the most part, the servers located in the Fairfax Campus act as backups to the Charlottesville Data Center. However, Charlottesville location is the primary site for the Student processing Server. There are also multiple backup tapes that haven’t been accessed for awhile and which GMU is evaluating for reuse or disposal. This task will cover the effort to transition the capability to the new location. The actual decommissioning and disposal of the old equipment will be covered in a separate SOW; however support for a decommissioning and disposal readiness event is included in this task.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
