OM493 Project – details for student responses Version 3.0 OM493 Group Project Fall 2009 Grading Criteria The grading criteria for the course are described here to allow a consistent application of criteria across project submittals. Project requirements from class Syllabus 1. A proposal response of at least 10 pages (double spaced with graphics) (overall 80% of Grade) 2. Accompanying power point presentation slides are due from the team (overall 20 % of Grade) 3. A 20-30 minute presentation on project management elements of the response is due. A team presentation of 20-30 minutes with an accompanying Power point presentation is also to be provided. It is expected that the power point slides draw heavily on the summary of written report for graphics or tables. a. Team members will be evaluated on content of the paper (see below for criteria) b. Team members will be evaluated on the presentation, i. How does the presentation use course material and demonstrates an application of the course material? (20% of the presentation grade) 1. (Do they cover the 10 of the 12 process areas covered in the book and chapters, see list below (1 – 2 charts each))? ii. Do the members express (meet) a basic understanding of the material? (20% of the presentation grade) 1. Members cannot explain the material or presentation is inconsistent or contradictory = 60 (or below) 2. Meet a basic level of understanding material = 70 3. Do the members exceed a basic understanding = 80 4. Do the members FAR exceed a basic understanding = 90 iii. Do members use the presentation effectively and convey the required information? (20% of the presentation grade) 1. Style Poor =60, 2. Acceptable = 70, 3. Good = 80, 4. Excellent = 90 iv. Do all group members participate on the team as peers? (20% of the presentation grade) 1. Few = 60 2. Most =70 3. Well integrated and coordinated =80 4. All members fully engaged = 90 v. How well organized is the presentation? ( 20% of the presentation grade) 1. Is not well organized = 60 2. Ok/acceptable = 70 3. Good = 80 4.
