Reasons to Believe I. Believers. 1. There has to be a reason that everything exists. 2. The universe is too ordered to have occurred by chance. 3. The Bible says that God exists. 4. My family and friends all believe. 5. I have personally felt the presence of God in my life. 6. I have had experiences that can only be explained by divine intervention. 7. Belief in God provides me with meaning and comfort in difficult times. 8. I do not have sufficient evidence for belief; however I do not lose anything by believing and disbelief could cost me everything.

Reasons to Disbelieve II. Disbelievers. 9. There is no need to believe in God to explain anything; belief in God is just a superstition that should be replaced by scientific theories. 10. There is more suffering in the world than a good God would allow. 11. The stories in the Bible do not make sense, obviously contradict scientific fact or contain immoral actions on the part of God or his followers. 12. My family and friends do not believe. 13. I have had no direct or indirect experiences that can only be attributed to God. 14. Even if belief is more beneficial to me, truth is more important to me than any possible cost or benefit in an afterlife if I am wrong.
