ECE2280 Homework #9 Spring 2010 Use the figure below to solve for problems 1-3. For DC analysis, assume that the capacitors act as an open, the BJT is active and the Mosfet is saturated. 1. (a) Solve for the DC values: i. I diode ii. Bias voltage for M1 iii. V B iv. V out (b) Prove or disprove that the BJT is active and the Mosfet is saturated. (c) Create a rough sketch of the total waveform seen at Vout given V in stated above, if V out /V in =- 30V/V. Make sure to label all relevant y-axis values (maximum, minimum, etc.). 2. Draw the AC small-signal equivalent circuit(use hybrid- π or model T). Make sure that everything is labeled in terms of the transistor number. (e.g. g m1 , v π 2 , etc.). Include r o for all transistors. Assume capacitors act as closed . 3. Use the AC parameters, r o1 = r o2 = 1 , rd1=10 Ω , g m1 =1.11mA/V, r d2 =2.8k Ω , r π 2 =1.3k Ω (not their actual values). Assume that C1, C2, C3, and C6 contribute pole values less than 1rad/sec. Calculate the pole contributions of C4 and C5 in (rad/sec).
