1. CheckPoint: TXJ Companies The credit card data theft at TXJ Companies is considered one of the worst ever. The case is significant because of a lack of appropriate security and control. Resources: Ch. 7 & 12 of Essentials of Management Information Systems. Answer the following questions in 200 to 300 words: o List and describe the security controls in place. Where are the weaknesses? o TXJ had inappropriately installed the security measures that they had purchased because of the lack of proper implementation and failure to update from WEP to WAP, they also left computers that were linked to the main databse unsecured which allowed the hackers to enter system and take information that contained the highly sensitive customer information that allowed the hackers to collect information to credit cards and accounts. The weaknesses that are contained within this system are based on online threats from hackers and the vulnerability of the system because they did not implement proper security measures and they failed to update the purchase software..
