After reading Chapter three in the textbook The Art of Thinking-Broaden Your Perspective. The kinds of habits that hinder thinking are: The Mine Is Better, Face saving, Resistance to Change, Conformity, Stereo typing, and Self Deception. In my opinion we should guard against using all of these habits when using online media, such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc. I am sure most individuals are guilty of all of these at one point in time in their life. Unfortunately, I know that I am guilty of at least two. This is what is called Face saving or saving face. Stereotyping is also another behavior everyone should refrain from. Stereotyping is basically the same as judging a book by its cover. It is very rude and can be very hurtful for some. It is amazing to me how teenagers today stereotype people every few minutes. I will be driving down the road with my daughter and her friends, and every person they see they are judging this person and it really bothers me. I did not raise my children that way....
