Read this week’s Electronic Reserve Readings. Write a paragraph of approximately 100 words for each section listed below. 1. Using the critical thinking skills you have gained so far and referring to the materials provided for this assignment, identify two possible strategies that Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams likely used to develop and improve their thinking as those historical events unfolded prior to taking a stand and acting according to their beliefs. Two critical thinking strategies Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams may have used to develop and improve their thinking. The first strategy they may have used would be, to keep up a critical attitude throughout any problems they came across. Keeping a critical attitude is essential because improving your thinking depends on someone’s habits and attitude. Problem solving includes thorough observation, interpretation, evaluation, it would be much more complicated if one emotions over powered their critical thinking. The second strategy they may have used could be summarization as a critical thinking strategy. Summarizing is used to help the person visualize key elements. I believe that Samuel Adams may have used the analytical process before taking a stand. I believe they carefully considered both sides of the matter and all possible consequences of each action before deciding what he would do. 2. Explain the importance of building a foundation for critical and creative thinking when evaluating historical events such as the Boston Tea Party. It is important to build a foundation, for critical and creative thinking when evaluating historical events and current events. Critical thinking allows people the ability to analyze, evaluate, explain, and restructure their thinking process. It is also beneficial for decreasing the risk of thinking with a false belief.
