A parent who is knowledgeable and up to date on teenage drug abuse, are parents who are able to cope with the pressures and influences their children may face when it comes to alcohol and drug use. A lot of children these days are experimenting with drugs. This has actually been a problem for decades; it has become a major issue trying to solve the problem. If parents would teach their children about the dangers of drugs not once or twice but on a constant basis, I think that would help the children not fall into peer pressure, it is also important to keep children active, in sports and other curricular activities.   Drug abuse is a problem and we need to teach our children about the dangers of drugs, keeping children in sports and other activities will help with the temptations of trying drugs

The challenge we face in preventing teen drug use is that the supposed benefits of using a certain drug are known sooner and spread faster than the actual risks. The benefits of using drugs are the euphoric high, the energy, the numbness, having the feeling that there are no problems in your life or in the world and that is the beginning of the end. It is imperative we educate our children daily, even if we are perceived as a pesky parent, we will know that we did everything we could to keep our children astray from using drugs; and also be there for our children whenever they need us no matter how big or small the problem may seem....
