After reviewing Chapter five and how to write an effective thesis statement, two key ideas I learned that will assist in writing an effective thesis statement are when I write the essay, I need to remember that a thesis should focus on the main point. If a person tries to address more than one main point in an essay, it is probable you will not be able to give adequate support for all the points.
