I am unable to concentrate on my reading when it is to quiet. There is always some type of noise around, whether it is the television, children horse playing, and my 2 year old screaming for something. When it is quiet my mind is not concentrating on what I am reading but what the kids are doing. Therefore I am unable to comprehend and retain what I am reading. Also, if my children are directly in my face asking me random questions, or constantly repeating the word Mom just to get me to look up at them it tends to be somewhat distracting. Noises can really be distracting. Therefore, going to your local library for basically complete silence may be a good solution. Also, if it is a nice day you can go to the park and read or just outside and sit in your yard. There are many solutions one can do to help themselves concentrate on there reading....
