After reviewing this week’s video with Bill Goodykoontz and the effects television and movies have on family dynamics; I would have to agree that these do have an impact on our young children, teenagers, as well as adults. Bill Goodykoontz mentioned that the parent has the greater control of what our children watch, and for the most part this is true. However, we can not control what they watch or do when they are at a friend’s house or at school. I myself love to read and Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors, but I do not feel it to be appropriate for my younger children to read. I recently

Unformatted text preview: found out that when my son was in the sixth grade, (he is now in the ninth grade) his teacher would read aloud a chapter a day from some of Dean Koontzs books; ha d I known this then, I would have gone to the school and talk to the teacher as well as the principal and let them both know that I did not feel that reading Dean Koontz to these children was appropriate for their age, and if he would like to read to the children he would need to find to find something more age appropriate....
