Brotherly Love “When Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained [servants], born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued [them] And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot” Gen 14: 14-16 -This is the type of love we need in the family of God. Men when we see our fellow brother being held captive by the enemy we need to pursue him and rescue him from the enemy. I. Now what do we do when we feel our brother has grieved us? First: We need to self evaluate our self, remove the root of bitterness in our own hearts and to take the plank out of our eye. -2Cr 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; -Hbr 12:14-15 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; -Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? -Mat 7:5 first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Second: We need to forgive our brother “Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?” Mat 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Mat 18:23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
