C.J. Gorrell ENGL 101 October 13, 2008 Rhetorical Situation The subject at hand is the No Child Left Behind Act. While no one feels that the act completely failed students, there are still many issues with the act. The idea of the act is to hold schools accountable for the success of students. As recognized by myself as well as members of congress, and the current presidential candidates, the No Child Left Behind Act, or NCLB, lacks necessary funding and research to be effective. My intended primary audience is the presidential cabinet and the House of Representatives who have the ability to change the act. It is in their best interest to reform NCLB, considering a more effective act can only improve the standards of American society, by increasing the capabilities and knowledge of its citizens. I also keeping in mind that I will have secondary audiences including, teachers, education boards, and parents of the student’s whose education is effected by the act. Educators would be interested in my article for the fact that NCLB is the guiding light to how they
