C.J. Gorrell LARC Discussion 10 Conservation includes the preservation and management of the environment and its natural resources. Designers can include conservation in their practice and they should. Not only should they practice conservation for the environmental concerns but also for the fact that conservation will help to ensure future work. To maintain our water resources for future generations, designers should minimize use of fresh water resources, and implement grey water management when possible. This will help restore natural fresh water resources as they are currently being run dry by our overuse of them. Soil loss can be averted through the restoration of vegetation and reforestation. The clearing of land for farm use is the number one cause soil erosion. If forestation was resorted in between land plots, designers could greatly decrease the rate of erosion loss. Pollution is another major issue. To reduce pollution, designers should maintain the strictest of filtration systems. Runoff, wastewater, and topsoil surplus should all be subject to strict
