9/25 The Infant Reflexes Survival: breathing, eye-blink, papillary, rooting, sucking, and swallowing Primitive: grasping, babinski, swimming, moro, and stepping Motor Development Gross Motor Skills: large muscle, the whole body, sits up, stands up, walks, kicks Fine Motor Skills: small muscle and hand-eye coordination, brings hands  together, grasps, reaches, scribbles, The Child -Gross motor and fine motor skills continue to develop and refine -Reaction time to a stimulus is faster than their younger counterparts -Physical and mental processes steadily improve The Adolescent 5 Physical Occurrences : 1. Growth Occurs -girls 1-2 years before boys 2. Body Composition begins to change 3. Circulatory and respiratory changes occur 4. Primary sex characteristics develop -increased hormone production, menstruation, growth of genitals, fertility 5. Secondary sex characteristics develop -pubic and auxiliary hair, breast growth, voice changes, etc.
