Assignment 02 Objectives In this exercise, you will refine your observational analytical skills by diagramming a public open space from your walk (Sproul Plaza, the BART plaza, or People’s Park or another similarly sized open space on your walk). Through diagrams and notations, designers reveal characteristics of a site that may not initially be noticed by the casual observer. We have discussed in class methods of diagramming and shown examples. Materials Sketchbook Xacto Knife Metal Straight Edge Rubber Cement 45/45/90 Triangle Pens: ‘Niji Stylist’ (fine tip), ‘Pentel Sign Pen’ (medium and broad tip) Grayscale tones downloaded from bSpace Process You will select three diagrams from the below list, or any of your own choosing that you think best describe your space. These diagrams will be create in plan view. You must construct your diagram out of a specific kit of parts: the three line-weights supplied by your pens (fine, medium and broad tip) and collage with up to three different grayscale tones (supplied on bSpace).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
