SOM 301 STYLE GUIDELINES Unless otherwise specified, below are the guidelines you should use when submitting assignments for this class. Not adhering to the guidelines will result in a grade reduction. 1. F ORMAT STANDARDS FOR P APERS : Your name, your lab section number, and the paper due date must be TYPED in the upper left or right corner of the first page of your paper. Failure to include this basic information will result in the loss of 10 percent per assignment. Sample: Sally Smith (name) 201 (lab section) February 10, 2010 (due date) Do not include cover pages. Use white paper and black printer ink only. Use standard Times New Roman 12-point font. Margins should be one inch on all four sides. Staple all pages together in order. Multi-page papers that are unstapled will be penalized at the rate of 10 percent per assignment. Use block or modified block format for documents. Use left alignment and skip a space between paragraphs. The chosen format must be used correctly (see formatting document on Blackboard for information on letters, emails, and memos).
