MULTIMODE COMPLEX LOGIC CIRCUIT – ARITHMETIC UNIT Please note that the unit that selects the output result is usually a DECODER which has n-input select lines and 2 n outputs lines. A decoder has the property that only one of its outputs is active at a time, and, therefore, it can be used to enable the unit or subunit that produces the function corresponding to the input value of the input select lines.
