ELEMENTS OF BUSINESS 2 Abstract Business owners all have to decide where to start, whether it is Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, or a Corporation, there are many other considerations such as how to fund a business venture. Others things that need to be considered would be the basic legal environment, the social environment and the economic environment. The management structure, operational issues and financial issues are also keys when having a successful business. The main thing that affects businesses in today’s world is how much technology affects our everyday lives and what we do. Business owners should understand that there has to be a lot of a lot of research done to determine if a business is the right for you. It takes much time and dedication for the business to work. I will talk about the company I work for and how it relates to Bus 105.

ELEMENTS OF BUSINESS 3 All Businesses that work locally and globally, understand the legal environment in which they operate. Laws, regulations, taxes, and government involvement in business vary from area to area, country to country, especially with global operations. I work for a Company that operates six businesses. Key areas of this company include defense technology and training, homeland and border security, and cyber security. This company employs Civilian Contract jobs through smaller companies. I work for the sub contractor company, one of these smaller companies which is still a multimillion dollar industry based out of Orlando, Florida, the main Company is out of the state of Massachusetts. In addition to legal and political issues, social and cultural differences from state to state, region to region, and country to country. Businesses make the mistake thinking that social and cultural differences are significant when you do business in another country although it seems that way, every country still works on the basic principle of a product for profit. I think the company that I work for has really looked at this and taken it to a different level. Even being with the company for a short time, I have seen them try to work with people in South Korea and the local community to try and make a good impression. From local events to training of Korean workers that work with the Government, the company goes that extra mile. The increase in technology
