ELEC 101 (L2) Introduction 1 2009/10 Spring ELEC 101 – L2 2009-10 Spring Basic Electronics [3-1-3: 4] (3 hours lecture, 1 hour tutorial, 3 hours lab : 4 credits) Pre-requisites AL/AS PHYSICS and Mathematics will adjust the teaching, and provide extra help (and tutorials) to non AL/AS students Instructor Prof. Philip MOK, Room 2440, [email protected] Demonstrator Ricky CHOI, [email protected] , mainly responsible for tutorials and supervision of TAs Teaching Assistants (TA) Technical Officers (TO) Please check the ELEC101 – L2 webpage TA mainly responsible for lab supervision, marking of lab reports, homework, and test/exam papers TO responsible for the technical support of the lab Objectives The course covers basic concepts in electronic circuits (DC, AC and transient), operational amplifiers, semiconductor diodes, bipolar and MOS transistor circuits. Upon completion of the course, students are expected to understand and use simple electronic circuits as functional building blocks and tools.
